1. Who We Are & When These Terms Apply

1.1 “You” means the person buying a car from us. “We” / “us” / “our” means MY LHD CAR FRANCE Ltd.
1.2 These terms apply to every car bought through our website, by phone, or by email.
1.3 The car is sold to you by MY LHD CAR FRANCE Ltd, who is authorised to accept orders and handle payments on our behalf.
1.4 Your order becomes legally binding 14 days after you sign the contract. If you agree that we start work immediately after you pay the deposit, you lose your right to cancel during those 14 days.

2. Price – What’s Included & What Can Change

What the purchase price covers
2.1 The purchase price includes the car, number plates, any optional equipment, accessories, and extended warranty you ordered. Foreign registration is only included if we explicitly state it in the contract. Cars are sold tax-free. This means EU registration fees or local taxes are not included unless otherwise agreed. To avoid double taxation, you should arrange to pay all taxes in the country where you will permanently register the car.
When the price might increase
2.2 We may need to increase the price if there are changes in car tax rates, exchange rates, road fund license fees, or VAT between the date we accept your order and when the car is ready for delivery. We are not responsible for any extra costs caused by changes to the laws or import regulations of the country where you take the car.
Part-exchange adjustments
2.3 If you are part-exchanging a vehicle, we may adjust its agreed value based on a change in its market value or its actual condition when delivered to us. This adjustment can only happen within 8 days of you giving us the original information.
Import vs. stock cars
2.4 Cars ordered for import: The advertised price includes delivery to our UK or France premises, and registration costs in those countries (Carte Grise only for France – pollution or CO2 tax not included).
Stock cars or special offers: Delivery and registration are not included.

3. How to Pay

3.1 You must pay the final price (minus any deposit and the value of your part-exchange) in Pounds Sterling (or another agreed currency) by electronic bank transfer (BACS or CHAPS). Payment is due as soon as possible, and no later than 14 days after we accept your order.

4. Delivery – Options, Timing & Condition

Delivery time & method
4.1 You can choose delivery to an address in mainland Great Britain (or another agreed location). We aim to deliver within 30 days of your order, unless we agree otherwise.
4.2 Your car will normally be driven by a company driver. If you prefer transporter delivery (including for European or worldwide delivery), we will advise the cost.
4.3 You can change your delivery method up to 7 working days before the scheduled date. You will need to pay any extra delivery charges on delivery.
Condition on arrival
4.4 If the car is driven to you, it may not be perfectly clean and might show some minor signs of the journey (e.g., mileage increase, light road dust). We are not liable for this unless caused by our negligence. Second-hand cars may also have minor wear and tear consistent with their age and mileage (e.g., small scratches).
Delivery delays
4.5 We will try to deliver by the date in your order confirmation, but delivery time is not legally critical. We are not liable for any losses (including loss of enjoyment or profit) caused by a delay.

5. When We Can Cancel the Contract

5.1 We may cancel the contract if you do not fix a problem within 14 days of our written notice. Problems include:
5.2 If we give you notice under 5.1, we may store the car (ourselves or with a third party). You must pay the reasonable costs of storage and any extra transport.

6. Your Right to Cancel (Cooling-Off Period)

6.1 Under the Consumer Contracts Regulations 2013, you have the right to cancel the service contract within 14 working days starting the day after you sign or pay the deposit. Working days exclude weekends and bank holidays.
6.2 If you wish to cancel, you must notify us in writing. Please email us first, then send a letter to our physical address (which we will confirm in our email reply).
6.3 If you cancel after the car has been delivered, you must return it to our UK address at your own cost.
6.4 When returning the car, you must include all keys, the V5 registration document, and any optional equipment. The car's mileage must not exceed 200 km from the delivery reading (otherwise we charge £1 per extra km). We will not accept returns for cars damaged in an accident, even if repaired.

7. If You Cancel – What You Pay

7.1 If you cancel after the 14-day cooling-off period, we will charge a cancellation fee of either £850 or 20% of the total order value (whichever is greater).
7.2 If you cancel within 14 days of receiving the car, this fee does not apply. However, you must take good care of the car until it is returned.
7.3 We will refund any sums you paid (minus any fees under 7.1, payments to third parties, or costs for services already provided) within 30 days of receiving your written cancellation.
7.4 If we already have your part-exchange vehicle, we will either return it or pay you its agreed value.
7.5 If you used finance, cancelling your contract with us also cancels the finance agreements.

8. Our Liability to You

8.1 Nothing in these terms removes your statutory rights as a consumer. All other terms implied by law are excluded to the fullest extent permitted.
8.2 We are not liable for any loss of profit, anticipated savings, loss of enjoyment, or any other indirect losses.

9. Your Information & Contacting Us

9.1 By placing an order, you agree to these Terms and our Visitor Agreement (see website homepage).
9.2 We collect your name, address, phone, and email. We do not share this with any external company.
9.3 We keep your information secure in line with the Data Protection Act 1998.
9.4 By providing your details, you agree to receive marketing from us (you can opt out anytime). To update your info, opt out, or make a complaint, write to us or email complaint@my-lhd.co.uk.

10. General – Governing Law & Notices

10.1 Any formal notices must be in writing. We will send them to the address you gave. Notices are considered received upon hand delivery, 2 working days after posting (first class), or 7 working days after airmail. For disputes, see our dispute page.
10.2 The contract is personal to you – you cannot transfer it without our written consent.
10.3 We can transfer our rights, but no third party can enforce these terms.
10.4 Nothing here creates a partnership or agency between us and My Left Hand Drive Car Ltd.
10.5 Displaying a car on our website is not an offer to sell. If you place an order, we may accept or refuse it. We may ask for a deposit. If we refuse, we don't have to give a reason. Orders are conditional on credit acceptance if you apply for credit.
10.6 Photos and descriptions are for illustration only and do not form part of the contract.
10.7 Your order and this contract are governed by English law.
10.8 English courts have jurisdiction over any disputes.
